Editing an Email (eMarketing)

Newly created emails are opened in the email editor. You may also edit previously created (but not yet sent) emails from the “Drafts” section of the E-Marketing module. Scheduled, sending, and sent emails can be opened and viewed, but not modified.

  1. Enter a subject for the email.
  1. Create the email content by dragging widget icons from the list on the left, into the body of the email. You can also double click a widget to add it to the email. When there are multiple widgets on the email you can use the up and down arrow buttons on the right to change the order. To remove a widget, click the X button on the right. For most widgets, to edit its appearance, click the pencil icon on the left.
  1. The communication reason can be modified from the reason drop down list.
  1. Attachments can be added to the email by clicking the “Attach” button on the ribbon bar. Note that only certain file types can be added as attachments.

  1. Recipients can be added or removed from the email by clicking the “To” button.

From this window you can change the contact list, note that changing the contact list will remove any recipient who is not a member of the selected contact list.

If the “Allow Duplicate Recipient Emails” option is ticked, then you can add multiple contacts with the same email address. When it is not ticked only the contact with the most recent Active Since date will be added.

From the “Remove” tab you can search for recipients and un-tick them to remove them from the email. From the “Add” tab you can search for and tick recipients to add them to the email. Note that the contacts must be members of the emails contact list to add them to the email.

When the email haat least one recipient you can switch to the “Preview” tab to see a preview of the actual email that will be sent to each recipient.

All eMarketing emails include a footer with your agencies contact details, and an unsubscribe link. This is a legal requirement for eMarketing emails sent by Australian businesses.

Click the “To” button to view the email for a different recipient. You can send a copy of the preview email to your own email address by entering it in the “To:” field at the bottom of the form and clicking the “Send Preview Email” button.
